The prostate cancer medication Bicilutamide tablet is used to treat prostate cancer. The doctor may decide to use it to treat additional conditions. It functions by obstructing the effects of testosterone and other male hormones.
How is Bicalutamide Tablet used?
Tablets containing Bicilutamide should be taken either with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Your doctor will determine the appropriate dosage and frequency of administration for you. This is based on the condition you are being treated for and is subject to change. You should follow your doctor’s instructions in the letter.
Common Side Effects of the Tablet.
A relatively frequent adverse effect of this medication is anemia (a low level of red blood cells). Other adverse effects that call for rapid attention include skin rash, appetite loss, shortness of breath, abdominal pain, and skin discoloration. While taking this medication, you must undergo routine blood tests to monitor your blood cells and liver function.
Inform your doctor in advance if you have diabetes, liver, renal, or if you use any medications to treat infections. Let your doctor know about all the medications you are taking since many other drugs may interact with or be affected by this one. Both nursing and pregnancy are not advised times to take this medication.
